A place to conserve and enjoy
The Cotswolds is regarded by many as one of the most beautiful areas of England. It is a wonderful mix of expansive open views, woodlands and rolling wolds. Its quiet hidden valleys contrast with the dramatic scarp of edge offering stunning views across the Severn Valley and on to Wales.
Within the Cotswolds are internationally important grasslands, rare species and geological sites of great significance.
The whole area is bound together by the distinctive Cotswold stone; which makes up a network of dry stone walls and characteristic stone buildings of the local villages and market towns. In 1966, the Cotswolds were designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
